Alumni: Stay Connected with Social Media and Virtual Hangouts

We’re looking at you, graduates! You did it, and we are here to celebrate your hard work.

We are so proud of you, and we are excited to welcome you to our growing community of 107,000+ alumni. We are committed to creating a strong, professional network for you that lasts for the rest of your life.

We aim to be a primary connection between the University and its alumni by developing lifelong, emotional ties. Networking is important as you continue on your journey, and we offer two main ways for you to stay in touch.

Social Media Sites

Let’s start with an obvious networking tool: social media. You get to use the awesome hashtags: #AMU4Life and #APU4Life on your social media posts to celebrate being an AMU Golden Eagle or an APU Volunteer for life.

If you’re not following us already on our alumni social media channels, check us out on:

We love engaging with our alumni on our social media channels, and we want you to use these channels to interact with others. One of our favorite things to do is to celebrate our alumni’s accomplishments, and we especially love doing this type of celebrating on social media.

When you see an #AMU4Life or an #APU4Life post, celebrate with us! We also use #AMUBravo and #APUBravo to celebrate milestones and accomplishments, such as the continuing education of our alumni.

We also know that our alumni are knowledgeable, and we love seeing how helpful you guys are toward one another, so definitely take the time to engage with one another on social media. If you’re looking for other ways to connect with current students and alumni, check out our mentoring program.

Virtual Hangouts

We love meeting our alumni! Thanks to technology, we can see and hear you at our virtual hangouts. These hangouts offer a relaxed atmosphere, where participants can chat with each other in breakout rooms, and we also share alumni benefits and news.

Other features of the virtual hangouts include:

  • Games, such as trivia and “This or That” (where players pick between two choices)
  • Swag giveaways so that you can win some of the newest gear from the Campus Store
  • Important school news and updates

Our next alumni virtual hangout is May 21 at 8 p.m. ET. We’ll have a guest speaker from Abenity (our alumni discount provider), who will be there to chat about helping our alumni use over 302,000 local and national discounts to save money on local day trips and holiday shopping.

What Alumni Have Said about the Virtual Hangouts

Curious to hear what some of our alumni have said about the hangouts?

“I enjoyed learning what the University has to offer. I also enjoyed engaging with the other alumni.” — Nellie Black, AMU alumna

“The content shared was informative and engaging. The speakers were fun and enthusiastic.” — Eugenie de Silva, AMU alumna

Many virtual hangout participants have noted that the hangout was a great networking opportunity to meet their peers and university staff. They thought the content was informative and met their expectations.

We’re delighted to serve our alumni needs, and we hope to see you on social media or at our upcoming virtual hangout. Remember: we’re here to celebrate you and to network with you on your #AMU4Life and #APU4Life journey.
