Be Strategic in Planning Out Your Classes

It is a huge step to make in a person’s life when they decide to further their education and sign up for a degree program. Once you’ve applied then comes the daunting task of planning out your courses. A great tip is to stagger your courses out so that you don’t take all the “boring” ones first or vice versa, because you’ll lose interest and motivation. You’ll want to utilize your academic advisors in the beginning stages of planning because they will be best able to guide you through your course progression.

Make sure you have a list of questions ready for them, that way nothing is left out. If you’re new to the online format they’ll probably suggest taking a writing course your first semester online. It’s good preparation for future assignments, and will give you a sense of what to expect when it comes to grading on assignments and style; APA vs. MLA.

Also remember, don’t get overwhelmed! If you’re schedule looks too heavy, then let your advisor know and they’ll help you figure out a plan that works best for your life and schedule. Give yourself the best learning experience possible by starting off on the right foot with your own schedule, and a great strategy.
