Those of you in the emergency medical field are well aware that this week (May 20-26) is National Emergency Medical Services. There’s been a lot of Dr. Alexander Garza, assistant secretary for Health Affairs and Chief Medical Officer, wrote this posting on The Blog @ Homeland Security. In his note, he discussed many of the year’s achievements including a strategy to collaborate with Canadian EMS and a partnership with the U.S. Fire Administration to publish guides on funding alternatives for EMS and a handbook for EMS Medical Directors. All good stuff.
