Meet Laticia “Action” Jackson.

Alumna Laticia “Action” Jackson (American Public University, Class of 2014) is a self-described “ball of fire ready to make the world a healthier and happier place.” Physical fitness has long been a vital part of Laticia’s life. She is a Fitness Olympian and a globally recognized health, fitness and personal development expert.

The title of Fitness Olympian was earned after Laticia almost lost her life in a domestic violence attack. This was one of the most pivotal moments in her life that shaped her into the person she is today. It was her faith, family and fitness that brought her through the experience.

Laticia has also made multiple television appearances and been featured in over 26 written publications. She has published eight books about health and wellness training.

In addition, Laticia is a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and holds three degrees. She holds an associate degree in human performance from Pensacola State College, a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of West Florida, as well as a M.P.H. from American Public University.

Overcoming Obstacles by Taking Action

Mindfulness is also an important part of Laticia’s vivid personality. In her blog, she says, “Today, we live in a world where there are so many things competing for our attention! Social media, jobs, family and the list continues. We often find our bodies in one place but our minds in another. In more ways than one, multi-tasking or not being present affects our relationships and productivity.”

Laticia is not someone who meekly allows life to happen to her. Instead, she is energetic and takes action when it’s needed. She has overcome the acute, long-lasting pain of domestic violence and says that she is on a mission to “help other women realize their self-worth” and transform themselves. Laticia seeks to help others to let go of their emotional pain and develop a victorious survivor mindset in order to create meaningful lives of confidence, purpose, power and passion.

Through her work as a motivational speaker and life coach, Laticia inspires her audiences to become physically fit and emotionally strong throughout the rest of their lives. Her books and social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest also concentrate on the theme of mental and physical fitness, especially for women and girls. She has spoken to audiences at middle schools, universities, hospitals, domestic violence shelters and community organizations.
