New Enhancements to the ClearPath Mentoring Experience

By Tracee Ramey
Student and Alumni Affairs Liaison, APUS

Building and enhancing community connections on a virtual campus helps students to expand their academic, professional, and personal networks. Through ClearPath Mentoring, the Office of Student and Alumni Affairs works with students, alumni, faculty, and university staff to foster insight and to expand growth opportunities to engage everyone in the university community.

ClearPath Mentoring launched in 2015 to meet the needs of students and alumni seeking professional and academic insight from their peers. During the past four years, the Office of Student and Alumni Affairs has worked in collaboration with mentoring program participants to further build and enhance the user experience.

What’s New in ClearPath Mentoring

Today, we are excited to announce the re-launch of ClearPath Mentoring with a variety of new features. For example, you can now access ClearPath through the Success Center in your ecampus or by clicking on the mentoring link in the Student Services tab.

Once you’re in, all you have to do is complete a few onboarding steps and undergo a quick training session to participate in the mentoring program. These steps will ensure we have the most up-to-date information on your profile to help you connect with other community members.

If you’re already a mentor or mentee, you will notice that the platform design and experience has changed slightly. Take a look around the new features, including:

  • The new dashboard, which houses your messages, notifications, any pending requests and your percent of profile completion
  • An immediate preview of current mentors and mentees right on the homepage
  • A more advanced search engine for finding your perfect mentoring match
  • Easy access to the mentor manager, who can be contacted directly through the main page for any help you may need

ClearPath’s Directory Has Also Been Enhanced

We have also enhanced the ClearPath Directory. This university directory provides students and alumni with a resource for building community connections outside the virtual classroom.

Through the ClearPath Directory, you will be able to make connections with your current or previous classmates, as well as our experienced alumni. We encourage you to expand your networks by creating and sharing your directory profile.

The Mentor Pulse Newsletter Is Here

In addition to the new user experience in ClearPath, the Office of Student and Alumni Affairs has launched a mentor newsletter, The Mentor Pulse, to share valuable resources, success stories and featured mentors. Try your luck in our game section, which includes opportunities to win prizes. The first issue of The Mentor Pulse was released last week and will be sent monthly to all program participants.
