Keyboard shortcuts save computer users time and effort. There are shortcuts for nearly every task in Word, from saving documents in a certain format, to highlighting selected text. To scroll between open items try CTRL + Tab, then hold down Alt while clicking on Tab to reach the desired file or program. For selecting text try Shift + Right Arrow, Up Arrow, or Down Arrow to highlight text. For more keyboard shortcuts to aid you, visit http://www.microsoft.com/athome/organization/compshortcuts.aspx.
It may not seem like a worthy time investment, but knowing 10-20 shortcuts can save you several minutes a day and a lot of stress! Plus, it’s a great way to impress your friends with your software knowledge.
