Turn Off Your Phone While Studying to Keep Your Focus

Even if you’ve turned off all of your social notifications on your phone, it’s still a distraction that could hurt your studying streak. Turn it off before you settle into reading your chapters for the week, and turn it back on once you’ve finished.

We fall into bad habits by not enforcing the good ones. Let your family know that you’ll be busy for a two hour span, and then turn off your phone. That way even if you keep clicking the button to see if you have an alert nothing will show. After trying this a few times you’ll get accustomed to not needing the technology while you study, read, or write. Unless you’re an emergency responder the calls and Facebook alerts can wait. It’s your responsibility as an online student to allot a certain number of hours, typically outlined by your instructor at the start of class, to your classwork and readings. Remember, you’re getting this education for your own enrichment. So, don’t cheat yourself!
