You may get recognition from your boss, but do you get it from your co-workers? It’s almost like giving a tip. Showing your appreciation to a peer can be a huge ego boost, even if it’s over a simple editorial change they made.
Think about thanking your co-worker the next time they have a quick turn around for a task or project. Respond by saying, “that was quick! You’re so good with [enter task here].” If the original email chain included their manager make sure they’re copied with your compliment as well.
