APUS Class of 2017 Offers ‘Tokens of Wisdom’ for Future Students

By Megan Hines
Marketing Staff, APUS

American Public University System held its Commencement 2017 Weekend May 12-13 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center at National Harbor, Maryland.

Class of 2017 graduates traveled from all parts of the country – and the world – to celebrate their accomplishments with friends, family and fellow graduates. Throughout the two-day event, graduates participated in various activities and spent time networking with their peers, alumni and APUS faculty and staff members.

The Golden Key “Tokens of Wisdom” fill-in-the-blank cards was a popular activity with the graduates as they reflected on their time at APUS. The “Tokens of Wisdom” initiative by the world’s largest collegiate honor society coincides with the APU and AMU mentoring program and encouraged the Class of 2017 to share their “tokens of wisdom” for future students by completing one of three statements:

  • My Token of Wisdom for future students…
  • I’m proud to be an #APUSGrad because…
  • My journey at APUS has been…

More than 70 graduates participated in the activity throughout the weekend, sharing powerful words of encouragement for future students, as well as reflections of their own journeys at APUS.
