It’s never too late to start on a path you’re passionate about. Perhaps your career goals weren’t funneled towards law when you were in college, but now years into the workforce you find yourself looking for an opportunity to get your foot in the door. If a degree in legal studies is something you’re looking for now is one of the best times to start.

American Public University System (APUS) has blazed a new path is gaining acceptance from the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC). This recognition by LSAC allows APUS to be listed in its official registry of nationally accredited institutions of higher education. Overall it will ease the admissions process for prospective law students.

Benefits to APUS students:

  1. Allow on-line registration for the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT);
  2. Access to LSAC’s Credential Assembly Service (CAS); and
  3. A designated pre-law advisor for APUS

APUS is reportedly the first online school to achieve this type of recognition by LSAC. The internal liaison for the school will be Constance St. Germain-Driscoll, J.D., Director of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies Programs. She is looking forward to being the official pre-law advisor for students in the program looking to proceed to law school.

Legal studies degrees are building a high reputation online, making the seats online just as competitive as the ones in a physical classroom.
